Audio Recording II builds on the skill set learned in Audio Recording I, focusing on multitrack recording and mixing through the use of the Trident Series 80 version 5.1 large format mixing console, outboard signal processors, and an Otari MX80 24 track analog tape recorder. Subject matter consists of signal flow for basic tracking, mixdown, overdubs, close and distant microphone techniques, session management and documentation, and analog tape recorders. Music Production studies focus on the role of the record producer, taking and in depth look at the entire process of producing musical projects. The business responsibilities, technical and asthetic nature of the role of record producer is further discussed in great detail and learned though hands-on application.
